Project

Clients are continually considering intelligent, attractive and unique approaches to redesigning their outdoor spaces and for this particular project, the brief was to create new and diverse areas that catered for various purposes. It was essential that the final outcome was appropriate for entertainment and relaxing whilst retaining the existing lawn space as an area for the client’s dogs to enjoy. The task ahead was to construct a raised spherical deck that was not only durable but required minimal upkeep, and would generate a stronger focal point within the garden.

Challenges

Spherical decks can impose difficulties as it means assembling the face and trim as a circular shape it was the first time this contractor took on such a project.

Conclusion

We discovered that circular decks can be achieved and with surprising ease. Using Fitrite’s ebony Evo Deck Board meant for a low maintenance solution but with a modern feel. The existing silver granite paving slabs were reused which complemented the stainless steel water features, giving the garden an overall contemporary finish. Having built a segregated raised deck area meant keeping suitable lawn space that was vital for the client’s dogs.

Fitrite’s Evo Deck Board has exceeded all initial expectations and proved its versatility as far as construction is concerned, possibly inspiring clients to experiment further in the future.

Client Feedback:

“The customer was over the moon with the final outcome of the deck & the feeling was mutual as I had never installed a circular deck before, but always wanted the challenge. I feel that the colour & finish of the decking itself adds to the wow factor & it was easier to install than I was expecting. Great service from Fitrite as always & overall I was very happy with the whole process from start
to finish.” –
